5 Things…

I’ve recently received via mail

OK, so I know that normally I would be showing you guys all the cool stuff I’ve found on the web lately, but instead I’ve decided just to show you things I’ve been eating lately via mail-order. Here goes.

1 :

We're baa-aaack

OK, so probably a lot of you know how awesome coconut butter is by now but for those who don’t: “omgsoawesomeinmymouth” <–what you will be saying when you eat it. Coconut is a good source of medium-chain triglycerides, and they may help ramp up your metabolism slightly. So don’t let the saturated fat scare you away!

2 :

Rice Bran Oil!

I bought! After writing about it in my five things and how it’s high in vitamin E, I decided to actually try it out. It’s a good, neutral-tasting oil that I use for either roasting or stir-frying.

3 :

Hemp "Protein" Powder

Think of this as ground flaxseeds or chia seeds. That’s about what the nutrition is –> not like a protein, protein powder. It’s a fine powder of hemp seeds. It has a nice, nutty flavor. I don’t like hemp milk, but this stuff is delicious! 🙂

4 :

Sunwarrior Raw and Vegan Protein Powder (Rice) <-- PB for size comparison

This stuff is pretty delicious! I had been using the whey stuff for a while but decided to try out the vegan variety after seeing so many bloggers eating the stuff. I, of course, made my no-bake PB chocolate protein balls:

yum yum yum

The texture was a bit more crumbly and truffle-esque than the whey ones.

1. Combine 3 scoops protein powder, 1/2 cup peanut flour, 1/2 cup oat bran, 3 tbsp nut butter, splash of vanilla in a bowl.
2. Gradually add water until you have a nice doughy mass.
3. Roll mixture into 10-12 balls. Individually wrap – my favorite method is wax paper w/three corners folded over the ball, then the last corner tucked in to form a neat little wrapping.

5 :

Sunwarrior Warrior Blend Protein Powder

This was for free! I liked Sunwarrior on Facebook, and I got this baby in return :-). Plus, they accidentally sent me two! You can read about the product here.

I don’t feel that I can fairly critique this product considering I got the vanilla and I usually get the chocolate, but, in my opinion, the flavor wasn’t as good as their regular kind. But it still was pretty tasty in…

Have you enjoyed anything mail-ordered lately?

  1. I’ve not tried any of these products! I want to try coconut butter, but I’ve yet to find it cheap enough to justify, unfortunately.

The only things I mail order are Nakd bars and quinoa. I need to expand my product range!

    • Seriously a good idea haha I’ve always thought coconut things were good but not anything my mouth would water for, until I tried coconut butter! The texture, the taste, the pleasure gained from eating it. So good. I wonder if it has anything to do with the saturated fat content –> I read recently that saturated fat induces a positive mood regardless of taste (They sent a concentration with or without it to subject’s stomachs. Those with it experienced an uplift in mood)
