It happened again. I comment on someone’s blog or post here saying, “I dont’ do that,” and low and behold, the next day I find myself doing exactly what I said I “don’t do.”

It happened a few weeks ago when I commented somewhere-or-other-(or-nowhere-and-made-it-up-in-my-head) that I know High Intensity Interval Training is awesome for you, but I just don’t do it. Then, what do I find myself doing on the stairmill? –> HIIT.

Yesterday, I commented on Julie’s blog  (PBFingers- you know, we’re clearly bff) about how I don’t really run blah blah blah. Then today, I get to the gym and what do I do? Run. In my mental defense of myself, I was not planning on running. No, I was planning on doing HIIT on the stepmill. Only, all of the machines were full. So, I was looking around and decided, “What the heck, let me just use the treadmill.” And I did. And it was great!

HIIT Treadmill Workout
– 3 minute warm up –> Build up to 6 mph
– 20 minutes –> Alternate 30 seconds at 8.2 mph and 1 minute at 6 mph
– 2 minute cool down–> from 6 mph to 4 mph

Simple and effective!

Maybe one day I will start running for serious…

  1. I think you are onto something re: that fitness study on candy eaters. I was thinking maybe something to do with low blood sugar due to exercise as well? Who knows. I don’t LOVE Fitness mag to be honest, but it’s a super cheap subscription!
